Weinheim Galerie: IPH Assumes Centre Management

Weinheim Galerie, a shopping centre on Dürrestrasse in the German town of Weinheim that was developed by DC Commercial GmbH & Co. KG, has been popular among local residents since 2010 as a great place for shopping and splurging. DC Commercial invested a total of 45 million euros in the construction project. Based on the experiences of recent years, an extensive concept is now being developed that will seek to optimise the mix of sectors and tenants, among other things. Starting 01 July 2014, IPH Retail Property will take charge of the centre management to facilitate the project. This makes Weinheim Galerie the 15th shopping centre under the care of the Munich-based company.

With a gross lettable area of 14,000 sqm, around 35 retail units occupied by multiples and supplemented by regional and local retailers, along with offices and doctors' offices, Weinheim Galerie is an integral part of the city's pedestrian precinct. Given its central location and the annexed multi-storey car park, it is also a destination quick and convenient to reach. “Weinheim Galerie is a symbol of the upgraded shopping culture in Germany's inner cities. The development of middle-order centres such as Weinheim is significant for the entire region of northern Baden,” said Lothar Schubert, Managing Director of DC Commercial who developed and owns the mall. “Drawing on the experiences of the first years, we developed an exact profile of the requirements specific to this location, and obtained a clear idea of its potential. We are delighted to have IPH Retail Property aboard now, as the company will commit its expertise in the areas of centre management and letting to support our efforts,” Schubert went on to say.

IPH Retail Property will take the place of MultiSec Mall Management GmbH on 01 July 2014. IPH will bring the BBE's experience of decades in the field and Elaboratum's professional know-how in multi-channelling to the job,” said Lothar Schubert.
