Crowds rush to new shopping center near Nuremberg

The new shopping center “Forum Stein” in Stein near Nuremberg opened its doors at the end of 2015. IPH Handelsimmobilien GmbH has taken over management of the center. Center manager Björn Alexander Kirschsieper was very satisfied with the opening balance: “Our expectations were completely exceeded. The footfall was very high, visitors came from the whole region and have used the attractive retail offer.”

The shopping center, located on the former site of furniture retailer Krüge, comprises a sales area of approximately 14,000 square meters, 40 shops and a car park with 600 parking spaces. The center’s anchor tenants include the drugstore Müller, a superstore Rewe Center, the electronics store Medimax, the fashion retailer Kö 8 and the sports equipment manufacturer Hervis. According to Kirschsieper: “Our attractive tenant mix has been supplemented by a variety of food and beverage operators in our food court.” The real estate group Sontowski & Partner from Erlangen has invested approximately 60 million euros in the development. “Forum Stein’s” architectural highlight is an exact replica of the “Krügel-Villa”.
